#COVID19PrintProject

A COVID19 Print Media Exchange Portfolio

This exchange is a response to the COVID19 pandemic. The preventative measures implemented have limited access to printmaking facilities and cooperatives, as well as cancelled or postponed exhibitions, conferences, and exchange portfolios across the world.  How do we as printmakers interpret the experiences our print, academic, professional, and home community's are facing? How does our studio practice exist, and continue outside of the printmaking studio? What are creative ways to pull an edition of prints from home without a press?

This exchange is taking place to help printmakers find new methods of creating work in an experimental way without presses, exposure units, acid, and the other bells, and whistles we are used to using. Printmakers are avid problem solvers who rise to the occasion. It is encouraged that you do not use a press to create this edition, but are welcome to employ other methods if you still have access.  Current events have presented new obstacles to overcome, and a new set of variables to experiment with. Due to the current events varied additions will be accepted.

If you are interested in participating please email Susannaharriscreates@gmail.com with a brief description of your thoughts on content and process, for the edition you plan on creating.

I understand that this is a difficult time for many artists, and want to remain as accessible as possible. If you have interest in this exchange, but feel unable to pay the fee, or have concerns regarding the materials, or glassine please contact me.
