Zygote NEO Residency
2022

Northeast Ohio fellowship is available to regional emerging print artists. It provides awarded artists with unlimited access to Zygote’s facilities for three consecutive months, and inclusion in the Zygote archives. This residency requires an application process and is geared towards supporting emerging artists in completing specific projects or bodies of work that would benefit from Zygote’s specialized equipment and supportive community.

While in residence I processed the death of my mom. I used skeleton leaves she had given me when I was a child and the Risograph. I loved placing the leaves directly on the scanning surface and experimenting with paper and printing. I had the opportunity to learn how to create a polymer plate for the letterpress. A photo of my mom and me was made into a polymer plate and an edition was hand printed. Tissues were an overarching theme as well as I noticed the leaf patterns on many of my tissue boxes. "All the Places I Keep Tissues Now" I created an artist book from this idea using risography.

I continue to experiment and create work with the prints I made while in residence.
